Account and Billing Information
While you can create an account with minimal information, you will need to enter a credit card to place backorders.
In order to bid on auctions, you will also need to have complete and accurate account information as this data is used for the registrant details.
Backorders and Bids
When you place a backorder for a domain, this is your indication you are interested in the domain should it become available. You have not been entered into an auction just yet.
IMPORTANT: Your backorder bid is NOT a proxy bid, but your "Starting Bid" should the domain go to auction (or the amount you are charged if you have the only backorder).
Only those bidders that have the name on backorder prior to the backorder Closing Time will be included if the domain goes to auction.
An email is sent when the auctions starts and includes the exact ending date and time. At that time you can increase or bid, or enter a proxy bid.
Verified Bidder
You do not need to become a Verified Bidder unless you plan to submit more than 10 backorders per day, or want to bid over $2500 collectively on all active auctions.
It's a good idea to submit your Verified Bidder documents well in advance, to be sure you are not excluded from an auction.
Auction Types
Please be aware of the different types of auctions and minimum bid requirements.
Examples:
Pre-Release domains are expiring domains through our partner Registrars. The original expiration date is retained if we sell the domain.
Pending Delete domains have gone through Redemption and are being deleted by the current Registrar. This is a new domain with a new creation date.
Reserve Auctions are typically sold by Private Sellers with an undisclosed minimum selling price. If the reserve is not met, the domain will not be sold.
Minimum Bid Amount auctions will have a published minimum selling price. If the minimum bid is not met, the domain will not be sold.
No Guarantee on Auctions
Not all domains will have an auction.
Examples:
If a Pre-Release domain is renewed by the prior registrant prior to the Backorder Closing Time, the domain will not be offered for auction at NameJet.
If a Pending Delete domain is not registered by NameJet, there will not be an auction.
In either case, the domain remains in a Wish List status until you delete it, or it becomes available again.
Payment for Auctions
NameJet will automatically attempt to charge the credit card in your account within an hour after the auction closes. You do not need to Add Funds to your account balance.
Auctions awarded for $5000 and under will be charged to your credit card; a bank wire transfer is required for auctions over $5000.
We do not accept PayPal, checks or other forms of payment.
Payment Grace Periods
Bidders will have 7 days in Pending Payment status. The auction will go into Past Due status for an additional 7 days, for a total of 14 days.
Verified Bidders will have 14 days in Pending Payment status. The auction will go into Past Due status for an additional 14 days, for a total of 28 days.
While in Past Due status, you are not added to any new auctions, you cannot bid in active auctions, and other restrictions apply.
If you fail to make payment by the due date, your account is closed for non-payment, and you no longer qualify to participate at NameJet.
